Women in Leadership of Central IllinoisScholarship FundThe Women in Leadership of Central Illinois is targeted at assisting women in the Tri-County area who are pursuing college/university, post graduate, or accreditation/certification for business management/professional or entrepreneurial education. The award is intended to defer tuition, fees, books, and other academic expenses. The amount of the award is not to exceed $1,000 per academic year and may vary from year to year. Scholarships may be renewed pending re application and approval from the Board of Directors of Women in Leadership of Central Illinois. Eligibility: The scholarship will be available to qualified women who are residents of the Illinois Tri-County area as well as being a graduate of a high school or a recipient of GED. The applicant should have motivation to accomplish a career and leadership goals. Financial need will be considered only when other factors are equal among applications. The applicant should also be a non-traditional student…in the workforce a minimum of three years. Application Deadline: The Scholarship deadline will be March 15th of each year. Award: The amount granted from the fund in any given year shall be $1,000. Application Procedure: The following information must be submitted to the Community Foundation of Central Illinois prior to the scholarship deadline for consideration: • High School/College Transcripts • Two letters of recommendation and three other references from current or former teachers, counselors, employers, or other professionals who can serve as character references. • Written statement, nor less then 300 nor more then 500 words in length, explaining who you are, what you wish to accomplish with advanced education, and why you are requesting assistance. • Written statement of leadership roles in community activities. Scholarship recipients may reapply by March 15th (Following year of receipt) to be considered for scholarship renewal if they maintain a passing grade point average and complete the requirements. Reapplication requires a completed application and copy of transcripts.
