How can we serve more clients? Let's open another office! How can we do that more efficiently? Nonprofit leaders often ask these questions related to building the capacity of their agencies. The need to grow programs and develop efficient operations is great, but the thought of doing "more" when you can barely manage the agency as it is, can be mind-blowing! This session of Fundamentals explores how a nonprofit assesses and prioritizes program and administrative needs, plans a capacity building effort (large or small) and then deliberately executes it--all while they ahve tackled several short-term and long-term capacity building endeavors. Eileen Setti, Partner at Ruby & Associates, just completed original research on nonprofit capacity building of Peoria area nonprofits to fulfill the requirements of a doctorate. She will present some of her findings relevant to capacity building for nonprofits in different settings, obstables they face and best practices for successful capacity building endeavors.
