Women's Fund

Change
Women give to expedite change, rather then to preserve the status quo.

"I really want to see social change. I want to see the systems change with my money."

Creation
Women donors enjoy setting a creative process in motion with their gifts and watching it unfold.

"I don't have children, so that in philanthropy I'm looking for a way to give something to the future the way parents give through their children."

Connection
Giving may be just the beginning of a woman donor's relationship with her institution or cause, followed by increasing commitment to serve and give.

"(A gift) is like a child, and you have a lifelong commitment and responsibilities to that child."

Commitment
For many women, volunteer work precedes a financial gift.

"I've been involved with the Girl Scouts for a long time. I've given time, but never money and we're always trying to figure out how to raise money..."

Collaboration
Women generally work very effectively with others to solve problems.

"It feels better giving with other women, because we have control of where the money goes."

Celebration
Giving should be fun, with creative giving opportunities and celebrations.

"Giving money is fun when you can make things happen with it."

Women truly want to change the world and make it a better place. Their giving reflects a duty to give back and a concern for others.

"The end result is that I was there and I was involved, and I made a difference."
